This is the most devastating thing they could've pulled here. These aren't flashbacks. Maria was killed before she ever got to see the earth that she loved so much from afar. They never got to explore the world together the way they always wanted to.

These are fantasies. Dreams that never got fulfilled. Glimpses of everything that could've been but never was. Shadow isn't reminiscing on his past-- he's getting lost in flashes of that happy, content future him and Maria never got to have. What if I just cried.

sometimes i think about how there's a route in shadow's game called "the miracle of love", where you do the dark missions up until meeting amy, then take the good route for the rest of the game—and i just really feel things for shadow. and in the ending when he goes over everything he did, he mentions how he had no reason to help amy, but did anyway, wording it in a way that implies he just wanted to. it's fucking called the miracle of love.

also there's a voiceline in team sonic racing where he says "you did okay, amy" in the gentlest fucking tone i have ever heard my god. and it's like the nicest thing he said to *any* of the characters in that game.

it's such a soft part of his characterization that kinda drives me nuts to think about sometimes.

3. A song you’d choose to introduce someone to your favorite genre

This one is hard, because I don't think I have a favourite genre! I listen to a little bit of everything, honestly.

If I had to pick a genre that I love and that's relatively less popular, I'd go for jazz! And in that case, I think a wonderful introduction to the genre is anything by legends Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong, especially when they sung/played together -- and I'd recommend this version of Summertime as a starting point. It's an incredible piece, full of technical ability, emotion, virtuosity and atmosphere, and it showcases a lot of what I love about jazz as a genre.

14. A song you love to sing along to

So many. So many. I *adore* singing and I love my music, so I'll honestly sing whatever I'm listening to and have a great time with it (as long as I'm alone, and even in company sometimes!). If it's not within my range, I'll find a way.

I'm especially fond of songs that allow me to be a bit dramatic -- stuff like Italian heartbreak anthem Maledetta Primavera or, for a more international example, Holding Out For A Hero (yes, I do all the voices -- and the poses, of course).

okok Okay the neutral endings are incredibly fucked up and insane but also theyre super not canon (bc despite shth’s attempts to be a choose your own adventure, theres a canon ending which yknow. defeats the purpose. but technically they havent Confirmed the canon route either so the more popular theories involve some of the neutral ends anyways ANYWAYS)

the actual reason for his rewrite as awkward as it is nowadays is bc in shth(2005)’s the last way it reveals that the whole point of the game was that in the end the true path shadow decides to take is “fuck it we ball” and he decides fuck black doom, the past is in the past and hes moving on from all this bullshit of being gerald’s pawn and gun’s weapon and even a little bit of maria’s hope to be Just Shadow and he will keep his promise to maria while also finally endeavoring to live life as his own self and this is why hes so superior in sonic 06 bc he
